Tragic Accident at Hatia Dam in Ranchi: 3 Dead, 1 Missing Including Jamshedpur Chief District Judge’s Security Personnel


Ranchi: A tragic accident occurred at Hatia Dam in Ranchi, Jharkhand, claiming the lives of three people, including two security personnel of the Chief District Judge of Jamshedpur. Another individual remains missing, and rescue operations are underway.

According to police reports, the incident took place late Friday night in the Nagar police station area. Hatia DSP Pramod Mishra confirmed that a car carrying four individuals lost control and plunged into the dam. The car was coming from Jamshedpur when the accident occurred.

Police have recovered the bodies of the driver, Satyendra, and the two security personnel, Upendra Kumar Singh and Robin. One person is still unaccounted for, with local divers assisting in the ongoing search. Evidence, including the vehicle and two firearms, has been retrieved from the scene.

Preliminary investigations suggest the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn into the water. Authorities are probing the circumstances that led the police personnel to be in the car and at the dam. All recovered bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.

The Ranchi police continue to gather evidence at the site while prioritizing the search for the missing individual. The incident has sent shockwaves across the city, highlighting concerns about road safety and the risks faced by security personnel on duty.
