Rajasthan Police Arrest Three for Selling “Lawrence Bishnoi Jackets”; Wearing Them Could Land You in Jail

Jaipur: With winter in full swing and rainfall alerts issued across several districts, Rajasthan Police have issued a stern warning to residents planning to buy jackets from the market. Authorities have arrested three individuals selling jackets branded with the name and logo of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. While the current arrests are limited to the sellers, police have made it clear that anyone found wearing these jackets in public could also face arrest.

Reason Behind the Ban
Over the past few years, Rajasthan Police have launched a major campaign against gangsters. Many gang leaders have been arrested, while others have fled abroad fearing law enforcement. Authorities have observed that some youths idolize gangsters, imitate their style, and attempt to gain notoriety by following them on social media. To curb this trend, police have taken strict action against promoting or glorifying criminals.

The jackets in question, seized in Kotputli, Bahadurgarh, are designed in the same color and style worn by Lawrence Bishnoi. The jackets feature his name in small letters at the spot where a branded logo would normally appear. Police consider selling or wearing these jackets as glorifying criminal activity, which could mislead young people and promote lawlessness.

Arrests and Seizure
Kotputli police conducted raids at City Plaza, arresting three local sellers: Krishna alias Guddu (son of Mahavir Sharma), Sanjay Saini (son of Nanchuram), and Suresh Chand Sharma (son of Mohre Lal). During the raid, 35 jackets bearing Lawrence Bishnoi’s name were confiscated.

SP Devendra Bishnoi stated, “Glorifying criminals is detrimental to society. It misguides the youth and encourages criminal behavior. Police action against those promoting such elements will continue.”

Authorities are now investigating the manufacturers behind these jackets and may take action against the company producing them, ensuring that no more such items enter the market.
