LIC Agent Father Supports Dreams, Deoria’s Naman Tiwari Bought by Lucknow Super Giants for ₹1 Crore

Naman Tiwari, a 20-year-old left-arm medium-fast bowler from Deoria, has made his mark in the IPL T20 League 2026. The Lucknow Super Giants acquired him for ₹1 crore, bringing pride and celebration to his ancestral village, Khukhundu in the Parasia Gulali area, and across the region.

Humble Beginnings, Big Dreams

Coming from a middle-class family, Naman’s father, Suryanath Tiwari, an LIC agent residing in Lucknow, never imposed his own wishes on his son. From a young age, Naman’s passion leaned more toward cricket than academics. Recognizing his son’s talent, Suryanath offered unwavering support, allowing Naman to pursue cricket seriously.

Cricketing Journey

The youngest of three siblings, Naman completed his schooling in Deoria up to the intermediate level. Inspired as a child by watching cricket matches on television, he decided to become a cricketer after seeing a bowler take a wicket. From that moment, he dedicated himself to consistent practice and hard work, gradually developing into a skilled left-arm medium-fast bowler.

Celebration from Village to City

Naman’s success is a beacon of hope for young athletes from modest backgrounds, demonstrating that discipline, perseverance, and consistent effort can overcome limited resources and challenging circumstances. The news of his IPL selection has sparked celebrations from his village in Gulali Parasia to his home in Lucknow, inspiring many aspiring cricketers across the region.
