Indore, Madhya Pradesh: MY Hospital in Indore has once again come under scrutiny following a serious incident involving a national-level Kabaddi player, Roshni, who was allegedly administered an expired saline bottle during her treatment. The patient’s husband recorded the incident and shared it on social media, triggering a major uproar in the state health department.
Expired Saline Bottle Administered
Roshni, admitted for treatment at MY Hospital, was about to receive a saline bottle with an expiry date of August 2025. Her husband noticed the expiry date just before it was administered and immediately intervened. Alarmed by the potential risk to his wife’s life, he alerted the hospital staff and documented the incident on video, which quickly went viral online.
Hospital Administration Responds
The hospital superintendent, Dr. Ashok Yadav, defended the hospital staff, stating that the expired saline was removed before being administered, and claimed that the video circulating on social media provided an incomplete picture of the incident. However, the video footage and the patient’s family have raised serious concerns about the hospital’s negligence.
Cabinet Minister Condemns Incident
State Cabinet Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya expressed strong disapproval, emphasizing that patient safety must never be compromised. He assured the public that a thorough investigation would be conducted, and any staff found guilty of negligence would face strict action.
History of Negligence at MY Hospital
This incident is not the first case of medical negligence at MY Hospital. Just days earlier, a tragic incident involving newborns attacked by rats led to the deaths of two infants, highlighting ongoing safety and hygiene lapses in the hospital.
The latest episode has once again cast doubt on the hospital’s administration and raised questions about patient care and monitoring protocols at one of the region’s largest public healthcare facilities.
